Bozena Topola on her recent visit to the Island

"Todi is the nectar of the flowers of coconut palms, the key ingredient used in the manufacture of Arrack - local alcohol as well as coconut syrup and coconut sugar. Gatherers moving between consecutive palms on special aerial ropes. Collectors can be seen from Wadduwa to Bentota (north of Colombo from Marawila to Chilaw).
